For a filmmaker on a budget these mics are a godsend. The product itself is fairly simple and fairly harmless. Audio is a very important part of creating a compelling video, and for $20 for two lines of audio, you'll be hard pressed to find better value. I know it was me, which is why I shared this deal with many of my director friends. However, I would wish that the second adapter was included in the scope of delivery. In the current state, the microphones plug directly into the 3.5mm jack that works with the standard iPhone. This is a great advantage for a filmmaker on the go shooting, but it limits the use of the microphone. Instead, I would recommend enabling two to be able to connect a microphone to each of my external recording devices at the same time. If that's your intended goal, then you should be ready to use the splitter for now. That being said, for $20, there's enough room in your budget to pay for the necessary adapters. Realistically, no complaints.
