We had trouble getting newborn sized disposables so we mostly used cloth nappies. I have some old Alva diapers the same size that we loved with our first baby but they are too big for our second peanut even if he is almost 2 months old. I foolishly checked her weight after ordering and she was over 11lbs so I was concerned they would be too small right off the bat. Although she may only wear them for a month or two, I still think they were worth the investment (wish my husband or nanny could have an easier diaper change). We've had to trim their height, but the width and leg opening are pretty good for their current size. As other users have pointed out, they are already in the crotch and can be a bit difficult to pocket. Haven't tried pliers yet, but I might see if it would be a little easier and quicker. I did notice some small stains on the liners, but the covers were clean with no stains (the feces had been rinsed off before washing).
