Update 3/4/18: We received the 4th mixer, there are still imperfections on the side of the mixer base and some roughness on the black cover. The jug is in good condition. We have used this blender and it works well for making smoothies and soups. The cleanup feature works better than anything I've had before. I still stand by my one star rating as previous blenders have never had to leave the manufacturer. First review: I was so excited to get this blender. I did a lot of research before deciding on this. I just received a third one and am trying to get one with no manufacturing defects. The first jug had a small crack and I didn't look at the base, just sent it back and ordered another, thinking it must have happened during shipping. The second jar had a stain on the crease between the bottom and the side of the jar that wasn't shaped properly so it created a pocket for food to get stuck in. Plastic parts were missing on the second base around the dial. The third pitcher has the same problem but with a bubble in the plastic that cannot be cleaned. The third base has surface scratches and the part where the jug is attached is rough and worn. We contacted Cuisinart after receiving the second blender. One of the customer service representatives said that this was not a problem and that the issue should be resolved with Amazon. We called again and another employee wanted us to speak to production department customer service but waited over an hour for an answer before hanging up.
