My dog and cat approve of this pet bed. As soon as I got it, I removed the cover (bonus!), washed on gentle cycle and dried on low. It came out great.The material of the outer cover is very soft/fur-like on one side, and is a see-through type of material on the back. I know the listing says it's warm on one side and cool on the other.I'm assuming the material is what they're alluding to, but I wouldn't necessarily categorize it as such. The inner pillow is a fairly thin pillow that is nicely sewn. We'll see how it holds up over time.While this pet bed is a little bit thinner that others of this variety that we own, I do like it.
