Update: I bought this tank in May 2017 so after four months of frequent use I'm still giving the tank five stars because it works as it should, no. the problem is there. However, I am disappointed with how this reservoir swells like a soccer ball after being in the sun or heat for even a short time. At the same time, he gives incorrect readings from the gas meter. As I steered my boat and checked the gauge, I noticed that it read more than empty. I was way off target and couldn't believe I'd already used six gallons. When I lifted the tank there was about two gallons left in the tank. So when the tank swells, you can't rely on the gauge to be accurate. It was in a sealed box on my boat so it was NOT in direct sunlight. I figured opening the gas cap would release the pressure and the tank would return to its flat bottom. NO! I haven't used it in a month and it still hasn't returned to its original shape and the meter still shows blank at the bottom. I paid extra for a tank with a gauge, so if choosing a tank now I would consider buying a tank without a gauge.
