I just returned from a 10 day camping trip where this was my day bag as well as my personal item as a carryon. It has great packout, and is super comfortable. I fit an ipad mini, extra charging cords, phone, journal, snacks, binoculars, bear spray (in one side pocket) and a large refillable water bottle (in the other side pocket) in addition to various and sundry other things on the inside. Pocket on shoulder strap is a great size for sunglasses and a small wallet for easy access. Hidden zipper pocket great for valuables to keep against your back. I have a similar bag from a more expensive brand and found this one to be more lightweight, and practical, without all the extra straps banging around. If you are used to being able to strap something to the outside of your day bag, that is one thing that is missing but could be easily fixed with a small bungee.
