Review on Five Ten Impact Mountain Shoes by Harry Tulsa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Walks like a banshee, looks like a New Balance 577.

Well, it looks like an older man's shoe (NB 577 to be exact) but rides like a banshee. These are the second best flats I've tried (first, it's the Pro Contact, which Addidas no longer makes). Extremely strong base meaning your arches don't tire, great platform for descents, I wouldn't run a marathon on them but they are generally comfortable to walk on and typical of the FiveTen, they adhere perfectly to your pedals. Pros: - Stiff sole - Sidewall support - Edge comfort - DH ready - Great for climbing - Cold weather/mud protection - Comfort level 8.5/10 Cons: - No ventilation so not a good thing. for riding over 95F - Heavy (doesn't matter for all mountain bikes but maybe too much for XC) - Aesthetics 5/10, they're ugly but they do exactly what they're made for. Overall great shoes. If you're not in 95F+ weather you won't regret your purchase.
