Robust, the machine handles moderately well.
Handles of good and strong aluminium, the holes are slightly offset but they can be treated. I drilled them smooth because I threaded a screw through the handles and frame and clamped them to attach the mirrors on the other side. My wife and I think this is a very good accessory and really helps us get in and out of our X3.
