Great sounding amp. Excellent build quality. This amp will drive speakers with a sensitivity of less than 90dB, but to really get the most out of this low powered 6W per channel amp you really need speakers in the 95dB range or better. As far as powering tower or floorstanding speakers, this amp will do so as long as the speakers are 90dB or more effective (think Klipsch). Speakers I've tried with this amp? 90db Yamaha NS-6490 bookshelf (sound OK), 89db Fluance SX6 bookshelf (sound OK). 96dB Klipsch RP-160m bookshelf speakers (sounds great), 98dB Klipsch RP-280F floorstanding speakers (sounds fantastic, more than enough volume for most), 99dB Klipsch Heresy III floorstanding speakers (amazing sound, again plenty of volume for those who want to take the amp to the next level? Add a Schiit Audio Loki 4-band EQ. Forget tube scrolling, the Loki will have a much bigger impact on tone, volume and, to be honest, for less money than some tubes. cheap 4 way AV switcher for my CD player,turntable,mp3 receiver and radio tuner to connect to high frequency?You will see the equalizer and spend thousands to try in vain to achieve the perfect sound with the perfect speakers that matched to the perfect amp. I don't have the time, patience, or money for this so Loki is a message from heaven to me. It's been 10 months and the verst stronger is fine. No problem. I actually bought their A50 300B and love it too. The A50 only has 1-2W more, but is bigger and heavier. A50 has more powerful sound when simulating. I think it has more to do with the size of the transformers than the lamps. The A50 weighs 40 pounds and the A10 weighs 23 pounds. Both amps are great but I like the 300B A50 better and don't feel the need to add Loki before the A50 like I do with the A10.
