Review on Leachco Back Belly Chic Taupe by Jenny Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked great for me.

I am 1.67 m tall and of average build (before pregnancy). I bought this skinny suit and was gifted a thinner, lighter J bodysuit early in my pregnancy. , I recommend buying it before you start having trouble sleeping; maybe it would be uncomfortable to get used to if I was already uncomfortable. Whatever it was, I kind of got into it. :) I thought it was great for my size, contrary to several reviews I read. If you use it like in the picture (fetal position) it's perfect. The headrest piece was a little thick for my personal taste, but it fit well. The zip-lid location is great (especially compared to other reviews); There is no discomfort when sleeping and it is quite easy to take it off and put it back on for washing. I definitely recommend buying with a case. I had no trouble with Snuggie waking up more than was comfortable or expected after five or six months of nightly (and daily pregnant) naps. It worked but it was tight. I had it so close to the edge of the bed that I pushed off of one side and woke up quite a few times. I would sometimes wake up in the morning to find myself cradling my side into him next to my husband and he was practically clinging to the edge of the bed. If you have a large double bed or sleep alone this is the cake. The cozy environment gets warm which was great in early pregnancy but later combined with my rising resting body temperature during pregnancy and the hot Texas. Things got a little weird in the summer. Finally, I slept best without sheets and a fan (prior to pregnancy I slept well dressed and under a thick blanket to accommodate my husband's penchant for frigid temperatures) - if you have a house cat he/she will comfortably co-opt with you not in this. Mine burrowed under the covers in the back of the Snuggie, which was an awkward surprise for both of us at times. Compared to the J-shaped Snuggie, this one is much thicker and harder. It's not at all malleable/positionable like a J-shaped Snuggy. The J shape might be better suited for a smaller person or for those who prefer minimal padding, and also for travel (I chose to just throw on extra pillows when we were out of town rather than trying to find any pillows to fit in the car). The J-shaped Snuggy is really great for feeding - I can position it as a bassinet + backrest or wrap it around a few times to give baby more support.
