I've been carrying the so-called "men's bag" for several years. Some are backpacks, some are messenger bags, I even tried a bait and tackle bag for a while. But this bag is my favorite so far. The material is good and durable, not big and not small, and pockets are plentiful. My 15 inch laptop fits in easily and has room for a lot of things. The only thing I would change is a larger side pocket for bottled water.
