I was hoping these were matte black, and they are. I like that they are simple design and no nose pieces that can fall off/break, etc. The material seems durable enough although I can't help but think they are pretty cheaply made. That will be determined with more use. The rubber trim on the handles are nice, nice touch. They have fallen off my head onto concrete and had no effect on them. At this time I feel they were a good investment and would recommend them.
