Love this tape. We have a very old wooden staircase (3) leading to the front door. You get a lot of foot traffic from us, dogs, postman etc. The steps are old, unfinished and deformed. With proper humidity (rain, snow, even fog), the steps become slippery. I wanted something that would make them safer until we replaced the whole porch. I chose a fairly cool day (December in NoVA) but it didn't rain for several days so the tree was quite dry. I used a sanding block to smooth out the rough wood and remove some of the greenish dirt - this was the hardest part and a power sander could have been better! I measured the length of the tape for each step, cut it with a utility knife, peeled off the backing and stuck it on. Then I step over all the tape to make sure it sticks properly. The glue seems very strong. After 6 hours it started to rain. Two days later they had a 1/4 inch layer of ice on them. The next day the temperature rose again to 60. Rain again. I've only been wearing them for 2 weeks(?) but it's like magic! Some of that has started to peel off and that adds a lot of grip. I can't believe I waited so long to do this. I like the wide band. A very useful product. Let's see how it withstands winter, snow and salt.
