I am an avid hiker, camper and backpacker. One of the things I take with me is a reliable multi-tool kit that comes in my bug repellent bag. However, for occasional hiking/camping, I often carry less expensive tools with me. However, none of them have an ax or a hammer. This tool, from an unnamed brand, comes with an ax and hammer (in addition to a saw, pliers, and the usual Swiss Army knife accessories), and I decided to give it a try. It is universal and solves. I have had ONE COMPLAINT with another brand that makes a similar product: an ax that is actually protected by a case/sheath! Another brand of ax (I can't name the name here otherwise Revain will block my view), the ax is actually NOT in the carrying case that comes with it, making it potentially dangerous to carry. The tool is very versatile and useful, suitable for short-term emergencies and occasional use. Notice the word "short-term." Since this is a brand I've never heard of, I'm hesitant to trust it for long-term (i.e. months) viability. My survivability confidence drops with Sog or Leatherman tools.
