I travel quite a bit internationally and it was nice not having to take my belt off every time I went through security. I just said "no metal" and was allowed to leave it on. Over two weeks in Africa and it has held up well - never had to pull a second strap or change a buckle. It's not the most comfortable strap, and the elastic loop that holds the work end in place is hard to find, but those are minor issues. As with any nylon tape, it's almost impossible to properly weld the hem at home once you cut it - it will find a weak spot and continue to wear out. So yes, it can be cut to length, but no, it won't hold up like a factory hem. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.
