Yes, just buy it! FUN! FUN! FUN! You won't regret it and your little one will definitely fall in love with you! I recommend this toy for hours of entertainment. I've been buying different versions of this toy for almost a decade and it's always been a HUGE hit. This was my favorite gift for friends and family when they had little kids. When I was looking for a toy for my little nephews from abroad, I was pleased to find that it was still available. This is the only toy I bought on the spot without having to study it or read various reviews. Lights, colors, sounds, and most importantly, the movement of gears can calm a crying baby in seconds! My nephews (8 and 10 months old) learned how to activate the gears by pressing the red PLAYSKOOL button. The removable gears were an added plus! The boys were very excited to learn they could change gears and, like most things at that age, chew on it. They tried to put the gears back into the toy, but at such a young age they still needed a little help. I'm glad to know that this toy will teach them something and help them develop their fine motor skills while having fun playing. I personally didn't find this toy too loud. I found the sounds and music to be of a good standard and a lot less annoying than most other toys out there today. When the gears are engaged, the noise of the gears is a little louder, but nothing that interrupts our day or conversations. We were able to easily hold a conversation without being interrupted or having to repeat ourselves. Not once did I notice the volume of this toy. Maybe some toys have a louder sound than others? Or maybe I'm just so used to very loud and uncomfortable toys that this one pleasantly surprised me. In any case, I find music and noises, both timbre and volume, pleasant. With hours of fun, you just can't go wrong!
