This backpack was purchased after several months of research and comparison. I chose it for the side pockets, the wide opening and the leather. First I noticed the smell of leather but it wasn't strong and not a problem. I removed the shoulder strap as I use a backpack. It has inner and outer pockets with zips. The top zipper has a wide opening so it's easy to see and get in. The iPad fits in and is closed with a zipper. However, the iPad Pro fits in without a zipper. The top is narrower than the bottom - this is not stated in the size description. I noticed that one zipper was a bit loose so I waxed it and it's fine now. Weight isn't a problem for me as the reviews say. Overall I am very satisfied with my bag after a few days of use. I expect to have it in a few years so I bought the leather. Update October 2020 Still using and loving this backpack. It's holding up well, a little leather care every now and then and it looks great. All zippers and straps work.
