Small, poor quality, wobbly, not recommended

The guidance is bad, but not as bad as the stability. If you have a tiny tiny cat or kitten this will work. It's about a meter tall and cheaply made. I have had over 20 scratching posts in my life and this is by far the cheapest design. Honestly I don't understand the positive reviews. I expect my new bengal kitten to last 6 weeks before it gets too big to fit or ruin it. An example of bad materials is part of a cat house. It is not built of wood on the sides. It has a top and bottom, and the sides are just fabric. I expect this to shred or slip quickly allowing them to fall out or worse get stuck and clinging to it. Another example is the upper circular platform. Edge vision is not tied to a circle, as is usually the case. This is a fabric circle that needs stretching. When we tried to fasten it the fit was so tight that the ring snapped off the screw. We had to find another screw to replace it. If you decide to buy this, which I don't recommend, do yourself a favor and put the bumper on before you attach the round platform. I recommend spending a little more and getting one of Amazon's list of scratching posts in the $60 range. This one is too small, too wobbly, too difficult to assemble, too crappy. I didn't like the price. It's too cumbersome to return it after you build it. I bought one of these for $70 last year and it's great. It only took me a second for the kitten swap where you hold the kitten apart and slowly introduce them to other cats. Since it only lasts about two weeks it will last the same, but honestly it's all about life.

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
