Review on Sony MDR-EX15AP Black Earphones with Mic and Control for Smartphones by Kiyoshi Sagae ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

Purchased as a supplement to the Sony XBA-C10 for use in very harsh environments, such as during periods of extreme cold, during strenuous exercise, or while surfing in bed before drifting off to sleep. The XBA-C10 cord is excessively flimsy, having been tanned by the cold. I thought I'd give throwing them in the washing machine for 2 hours at 30 ° C and reviewing the results a try. I hoped the given voltage wouldn't be enough to burn through something in the wet headphones, so after taking them out and disconnecting the tips, I quickly attached them to the SBH52 headset. Both speakers began playing music, however one is noticeably quieter than the other—likely due to water damage. I let it dry overnight, and in the morning they were back to their usual antics. They prevented the destruction of more expensive headphones, which would have cost me $2,000 if I had used them instead. They are simple headphones, with a standard sound and straightforward controls. My requirements have been met in full.

Pros
  • - Sony's high quality (washable) - the presence of bass that makes some compositions sound just as good as in Sony's 4x more expensive armatures - Because of its closed construction, it provides excellent soundproofing. - Price
Cons
  • The bass, as with other cheap dynamic headphones, drowns out the mids, making it difficult to appreciate songs with complex harmonies and a lot of singing.
