I am writing this review about a day after receiving the package and the price is already about $150 more than I paid. So I can only pay for this speaker based on what I paid for. I think it's a 5 star value in the $350 range. They sound great and the sound is way better than my apartment can handle but I expect to keep them forever. A good printed manual is included, but it seems geared more towards the Reference Premiere series as a whole rather than the specific RP-500M. Alone. It's the little things that count, like the angled bevels on the front, that make the speaker look unusual compared to pretty much everything on the same plane in your house from almost any viewing angle. These are bookshelf speakers and your bookshelf is probably flat. It doesn't bother me, but the bevels serve no functional purpose, so I'm wondering what the point of this design choice was. Finally, I think that a speaker currently selling for around $500 could be made profitably anywhere other than China. . I know that Klipsch makes their best speakers in the USA and next time this will heavily influence my decision. Crazy idea: try a real tree! I find it silly to compare the quality of faux wood on different speakers. Klipsh is worth paying attention to.
