This is my first experience with fiber optic cable. In fact, I was a little surprised how easily it holds together with a 90° crimp despite the plastic core. Another surprise of making my own cables was that no matter how deep I cut the strand, the plastic braid got in the way when trying to line up the wires in the correct order.
