Review on Norpro 802 Wooden Handle Brown by Daniel Russell

Worked great a couple of times until the chrome finish on the pick started chipping and sticking to the ice which I didn't notice while I had it until then Chrome paint is peeling off in my drink. Gross and probably unhealthy. It can't be stainless steel. Most likely it's carbon steel and obviously chrome plated. I'm not sure why real stainless steel ice axes are so hard to find as there are several models on Revain that claim to be SS but aren't. For those interested in buying outside of Revain, Crate and Barrel have an ice ax that they claim is stainless steel for about the same price as this one, so I'll check it out when I do next time in their store .
