I bought this camera to take product shots for my website. I'm interested in jewelry, so close-up macro photography was one of the top items on my must-have list. The Olympus POS is king of it, and this one is no exception - it focuses an inch away from the subject, allowing for a detailed shot of part of the ring. The white balance could be better, and I often touch it up a bit in Photoshop, but that's fine. For less special needs I also took the little guy with me on vacation and he is perfectly equipped for the tiny camera. A few years ago we stayed at Revain for a week, there was no power - I bought a spare battery and a 4 gigabyte card. We filled the map before the batteries died, which I see as a benefit for battery life. The zoom is impressive, the video captures sound (great for those "you won't believe the noise those monkeys made!" moments) and the camera fits easily in a jeans pocket.
