First of all, this FCHO is a device found in this budget suction cup class and far superior to my pair of Fastcap HODs. However, a few things to note: 1. The FHO block is metal, although the surface of my kit is messy with dirt in the paint, that's not a problem. While the Fastcap HOD version is made of ABS plastic and the handle is strong enough.2. The rubber discs on the FCHO block are stiffer and offer significantly more power during the lifting process. Thickness 7mm for FCHO version and 6.5mm for Fastcap HOD.3 version. The lever mechanism of the FCHO unit suction pads has a longer stroke and therefore a larger holding force.4. The holding time of my FCHO pair is substantial and they have not fallen apart for more than 12 hours on any smooth surface. Whereas the pair of Fastcap HOD's I have takes no more than 15 minutes. The Fastcap HOD comes with a rubber cap protector. #6 in the FCHO block. The FCHO's rubber suction cups emit a pungent, noxious odor, similar to the smell encountered upon first entering a cargo port. The Fastcap HOD version does not emit any noticeable odor. Please note that the version of Fastcap HOD I have is from 2013 and the design may have changed since then. However, the actual product images look the same, so I am assuming they are of the same product. In this case the FCHO version is the clear winner and does what it says on the tin and I would buy it again at any time. Why 4 stars? Because there is room for improvement by providing storage discs for longer life (sand and air exposure degrade rubber over time). And the smell of toxic rubber overwhelms some, like me, to the point that it burns my eyes if I get too close to the device. Fix those two things and this is a 5 star product for me. For many others this is already a 5 star product and I recommend it. Incidentally, the uses are endless, including moving a 1,000 lb hot tub (pull as the hot tub rolls through the pipes), lift a washing machine (2 pairs), and install a countertop in addition to the usual glass and flooring. Good product.
