First off, my son is killing socks at an alarming rate, but I've never seen him so fast. We've only had them a few days and I just looked down and saw that he already has small holes in the pair he's wearing today. I think this is the second time he has worn this pair which means he has lasted a day and a half in them. That means I paid $1 a day for him to wear socks. I don't think it's worth it. I suppose if your son doesn't kill socks then that might work better for you, but if you're already a quick sockbreaker I'd suggest you move on. They fit well and look good, but are underpriced in my opinion.
