The case is very hard and has rough mold marks on the stiff plastic that goes around the edge and seals the case. The ports for charging and headphones are covered by flaps of the stiff material. You almost need two hands to put the charging cable in, one to hold the flap down and the other to insert the cable. Once you charge the phone a few times the flap over the charging port will not stay closed, but it wont stay open enough to let you put in the cable with one hand either.I have not done any drop tests or anything like that.
