Our house had an outlet, essentially because of the charging station. Around him were always four or five handheld gaming devices, tablets or similar accessories waiting to be charged. There were frequent fights. Devices were left uncharged or accidentally turned off. In addition, each device had its own transformer, which may or may not fit next to the other. It was a disaster. So I changed the socket to this charging socket. Four USB ports are now always available. No transformers, no expectations, no problems. Overall installation was easy. The hardest part was figuring out which switch to turn off. However, I could use a little more guidance. It tells you to connect the white wire on one side and the hot wire on the other side. (There are holes you put them in and then tighten the screw.) However, when I removed the old socket, I found two white wires and two black wires. So it wasn't entirely clear (without consulting the internet) what to do with the extra pair. I saw a few extra holes on the socket, but the instructions were so vague it wasn't clear whether to use them or not. (I was.) But otherwise the outlet works great. I tried charging two tablets and a Nintendo DS at the same time and it worked fine. If you have an outlet at home that is a charging station, consider replacing it with one. You will not regret it.
