I was surprised to see what I would call "raw" cotton as I don't know the correct term. In any case, this cotton is used as a base. He still has stems and stuff; Usually when you see cotton these things have been combed out, which of course happens with cotton when it's on the plant. Of course, combing cotton costs more. Not combing reduces the cost of making an ironing board cover and you still won't see it. This is one of the cheapest cases at Revain. It's been over 20 years since I bought a cover for my ironing board. So maybe I'm a bit out of line. I was expecting foam padding and lace. I didn't worry about hooks to hold it up as I already had them. An elastic band around it means you don't need hooks and I really like the natural cotton padding.
