Review on Alexander Del Rossa Bathrobe A0116STLMD by Sara Hemp

I LOVE this robe. Bought for my husband a few years ago. He especially loved it because it had a hood. Our daughter recently picked up my current robe so I thought I'd grab the women's version of the one I bought him. I'm 5ft 2in, 100lbs. Chest 34 inches. I ordered a small/medium size and thought it would fit well. However, once I tried it on, I did a "movement test". I raised my arms to the sides and he stretched from the waist. The lower armpit seam ran just above my waist! So I adjusted the strap to a higher loop. It made him worse. Being a seamstress and pattern maker, I found that the outside shoulder seam dangled significantly lower than my other robe. I pushed the fabric in about 2 inches around the neckline above the shoulder to "lift" it, and then I was able to raise my arm. However, this made the arm length shorter, which I don't like. Then I tried on men's clothing in men's size Small/Medium. I liked that the sleeves were longer (I had to roll them up but that's not a problem for me) and I was able to raise my arms with no problem. So I spread his robe out on the bed and then laid mine on top of his. First, the women's robe is longer! The length from the neck to the shoulder seam is the same for both robes. ? However, I noticed that the sleeves of the men's dressing gown were sewn straight on. The female is sewn diagonally. THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS WHY IT MATCHES THIS LOOK. Like I said, I LOVE THIS ROBE - the fabric is amazing! So soft and super comfortable. Now I'm not sure if I want to return it for the women's med/large or order a men's robe. I could take it apart and re-sew it, but for the price I feel like I don't need to make any alterations. I keep trying it on to convince myself to keep it but then again I have to love it for the price, for what it is!
