Review on LG 27GQ50F B Ultragear Reduction Borderless 165Hz Gaming Monitor - 27GQ50F-B.AUSQ by Richard Hampton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

What's wrong with the quality control of this monitor?

Be careful buyers. DO NOT RECEIVE this monitor in its CURRENT CONDITION. It has HORRIBLE HORRIBLE color stripes, it's almost unrealistic. Of course this is a TN panel and should have colored stripes, but that shouldn't be BAD. Play a game that gets really dark like Control or Metro Exodus and the color bars just get awkward. My 7 year old 60Hz TN panel doesn't have the bad color bars that this monitor released in 2019 has. This color bar appears to be from younger customers (late 2020 to present). Revain reviews show people have only been complaining about color streaks for the past few months. When this monitor first launched in mid-2019, I read an advertising forum and people said this monitor had even fewer color bars than the ViewSonic XG2402 (which many consider the gold standard for affordable 144Hz TN panels). On this site, people only had compliments for this monitor. I was very excited to purchase and use this monitor. but now i have 2 replacements for this monitor and they all had horrible color bars. That's right: I have THREE of these monitors and they all have poor color reproduction. Now they all return to Revain. LG has serious quality assurance issues that need to be addressed with this model now. DO NOT buy this monitor in its current condition unless you ONLY play hardcore competitive gaming where things like colors and picture quality are not important to you. Personally, I wouldn't buy this monitor even if I was playing competitive games. I'm giving this review 2 stars because at least none of the three monitors had dead pixels.
