Review on πŸ”Š Altec Lansing iM600 Black Firewire-Charging Portable Audio System for iPod by Jill Lawrence

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the iM600 best in audio docks

I underestimated the convenience of a Li-Ion powered speaker kit. It's so nice to be able to take it anywhere, listen to music there for HOURS, and then charge it back up when I put it back "at home". No fiddling with cables or changing batteries. The sound quality is excellent here. In my estimation, this is the best you can get from a device of this size without spending a LOT more or having much larger speakers (which defeats the purpose of portability). A remote control holder on the back is a good idea. , although it's too much of a hassle to slide it behind the retention tab on my device. I don't know if it's a manufacturing defect or bad design. Anyway, it doesn't bother me at all. It still fits in when the iM600 is folded. The fact that the antenna slides fully into the device when not in use is a very nice feature. And the way the front and back fit together is pretty slick. I had some vibrations from the front of the iPod until I attached small rubber feet to the iM600. It just says he has good bass. The small flaws give it 4.5 stars in my opinion. If mine got hit by a truck or something, I'd buy another iM600 in a heartbeat.
