Review on Janet Collection Twist Marley Crochet by Shay Adams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

nope Never again.: Hair extensions, wigs and accessories

Okay, I really love Revain. However, this Janet Afro Twist Marley Braid collection gets ONE star because the item arrived on time and looks exactly like the picture. However, I hate this stuff. The texture of this kanekalon fiber is really HARD, difficult to work with and feels like a carpet. CARPET! I will never buy this again. This is my first time trying Marley hair and I can say from this experience that I will not buy this brand or any other Marley hair. It is very rough and difficult to untangle. If left like this, it looks terrible in my opinion. Like a big old matted mess right out of the box. On the second day I try to finish installing crochet braids. This will be my second time wearing the crochet style. When I first used Freetress Curly Hair it was very pretty, soft and very easy to style. Janet's collection has had such good reviews online - believe me I did a lot of research before buying this stuff - I don't think I did enough research because of course I'm not the only one who thought it was awful. I just do not understand. I chose it because it's the only thing that will come the next day. I live in the suburbs and there isn't a black makeup store nearby to buy hair from. (sorry) I should've just gotten a curly wig and rocked it for Christmas. But synthetic wigs are always too big. This hair is made up of pieces, like those old ribbons of yarn that girls wore in their hair - if only they were that soft. I'm so frustrated with this braiding fiber but I need to work with it because I've already spent money and I need to finish this hairstyle today. Very sad. Several YouTube videos inspired me to try Marley's hairstyle—I had no idea it would be stiff, almost matte. Found a video on combing. You need to cut off the slightly twisted end and use a flat brush in quick strokes. I make progress by detangling my hair, applying heavy hair oil, and running a 300 degree flat iron through my hair lightly and VERY quickly. I mean FAST. If you buy this you also need to buy a cheap hair oil like Blue Magic - yes Blue Magic - don't use your good hair oils on this one. I wish I had something cheap at home now - I don't have it. sad again My hands hurt and I'm not done yet. Probably another two or three hours. i started yesterday I absolutely cannot recommend it and will not buy it again. If anyone knows of a braided fiber that is soft and still has "lint" please comment. I really hate that I bought this stuff. And I have to wear it for at least three weeks to justify my money. AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" Okay, the ranting and judging is over. Bottom line - SHOP AROUND. SHOP AROUND. SHOP AROUND. What you get is four packs of "hair" plus a cheap locking tool. Do yourself a favor and buy the best locking tool for you sewing work at a store near you or use a hair clip tool instead.
