My husband and I bought a new expensive down jacket this year. The first night I put him on the bed. . . Clap! . . . I manage to put some hand lotion on it. Although I managed to get it clean I figured I'd better bring a duvet cover to protect it from fools like me. I have a set of pinzon percale sheets which are very good and this duvet cover is also very nice. It is well made and washes well (no threads anywhere, no protruding stitches). It has drawstrings on the inside of the duvet to secure your insert and also has loops on the outer corners of the duvet should you then wish to tuck your duvet into a decorative second duvet cover. Overall, this white case is quite opaque. Our duvet is medium sized French Blue/Wedgwood Blue and it barely shows through the duvet cover. It is only slightly noticeable that something darker is hidden behind the lid. I feel like sleeping under marshmallows and the fact that this coating is also an allergen barrier is an added bonus. The duvet warms the duvet, which means sleeping under a duvet cover is neither warmer nor colder than sleeping under a plain duvet. Excellent purchase!
