When I first got this adapter I thought something was wrong with it because the devices (M1 MacBook Air, Dell Chromebook) indicated they were getting power, but their batteries were not charged. It turns out that you first have to plug the USB-C cable into the adapter, and then plug the brick into the wall. The FINAL step is to connect the cable to the computer. Since I've been doing this, everything has loaded perfectly. I've even used it to power a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop for light tasks. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, but the specific way of connecting devices to it is a bit annoying.
