I have used Vera Bradley bags for many years for their quality, durability and aesthetics. I am very disappointed in this bag, which I ordered when my previous backpack fell into disrepair (after several years of daily use - as a work bag, night bag, bag I took to festivals and vacations, picnic bag, etc. d.). The drop in quality was extremely noticeable as soon as I took a new one out of the box. In fact, I had to return the first item I received for a second because the first one had a few tears and threads sticking out and areas where the fabric was separating from the lining. I was shocked at the reduced quality from what I was used to and for the price it was particularly unacceptable. I'm not sure if this is fake or if Very Bradley has really gone downhill in the last 8 years. Not only is the quality poor, the design also has some drawbacks compared to the old version of the backpack. Firstly I prefer the old bags with a small top pocket and they are easier to lose things and much more difficult to organize. The sides of the cup holder (which was a major benefit of the old design) are so tucked away that my water bottle keeps falling out. The main bag's zippers awkwardly reach deep into the cup holders, forcing me to fumble around to find a zipper to undo it. The adjustable straps move too easily, so I keep accidentally not adjusting the bag when I have to put it on my shoulders and fix it. The bag still looks great (but even after it was replaced due to a faulty first one, this one had a noticeable tear in one of the straps! I decided to just throw it away because I was desperate for a new work bag at the time. ) and roomy and attention-grabbing, but if you're used to quality Vera Bradley products, don't bother investing. I won't be loyal to Vera Bradley after that and just hope the bag lasts long enough to justify the high price.
