This is art, there are many videos but you don't understand everything very well. a piece of metal with holes on one side and small notches or domes on the other, that's what sets them up. For sizing reference, they are larger than Levi's jeans small pocket rivets, but are very similar in concept. You can vaguely see it. Flush a sheathed knife here. Basically they go the same way as the product picture with a piece of leather in between, you can use a piece of metal or an anvil to make sure it's flat, using a piece of wood or something won't do any good and warp it. Cut them open with pliers and literally leave a 1/8 to 1/4 inch fillet and slide them out. Jeweler's anvil is the best choice to make them look beautiful and cute.
