Tried on a famous brand IQ shorts in a store. They cost $80 and were "normal" in terms of comfort. So I passed and my friend (advid mtb-er) said to look online as this would be my FIRST bike ride. i found this The size I tried on in the store (brand I) was large. I read ALL the reviews about them and some said they are so small. Others said they fit great. So I took a chance and ordered the size I tried on. Big. I'm 5'5 and 155 lbs. I have a 34 inch waist and big hips (which every girl hates). These shorts are AWESOME! cut off circulation to my hips AND they don't roll up because my hips are "bigger" than my waist. The padding is spot on (haven't used it on a bike yet as far as I can tell) and doesn't look overly bulky under yoga pants/leggings.
