Review on SAMOFU Ergonomic Adjustable Headrest Executive by Alicia Aftanas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

First Impression Comfortable but durability/reliability is important

I decided to purchase this home office chair based on reviews, adjustability/features and mesh construction. The chair is fairly easy to put together, but that brought to light my biggest concern - there are TOO many pieces to assemble. For example, the base isn't a solid piece of metal - it's 5 arms bolted to a central support. When there are too many screws/bolts in an office chair it usually means problems as over time the screws/bolts loosen and the chair starts to feel 'wobbly'. My last chair suffered from this and it felt like I had to tighten the screws every 6 months to keep the chair stable. Most consumers won't do this, so keep that in mind before you buy. My other downside to the chair is build/weight. You will not confuse this with the steel body of the Herman Miller chair. These chairs feel solid like they'll last forever (usually in a home environment). This chair is much lighter and generally less durable. For example, there is a little more wobble/play when adjusting the armrests than I would like. BUT it's also a $250 chair, not $1250, so comparing it to Steelcase is unfair. That's why I only deducted 1 star. The construction of this chair is very good but should not be compared to a professional office chair as they are definitely better built. On the one hand, this chair is very comfortable and adjustable. It fits well - the bottom pillow has a nice waterfall design that's meant to help relieve pressure points on the backs of the legs. With this chair, almost everything can be adapted to the body. The lumbar support is also excellent. In the end I think this chair is very good, not great. For a $250 purchase it fits the bill and I am very happy with it. And for $250, I definitely recommend it. I don't expect this chair to last as long as the $1,250 Steelcase chair, but I'll also admit that this chair costs $1,000 less. If anything happens in the near future due to usage I will update this review.
