It makes good quality videos but I've had problems and there's a learning curve. I'm using Windows 7 and I download files directly from an SD cable which I connect to the pen and plug into my computer's SD slot. I never removed the micro SD card after inserting it into the pen. What causes problems. The supplied micro SD card could not be inserted for some reason. I didn't want to damage the handle so I tried one of mine and it easily slid all the way and snapped into place. I never removed this SD card. It's 32 gigs. I also couldn't figure out when the pen was charging. It comes with a 5V DC charger and a lead that connects to the pen. You plug it into an outlet and when the orange light is on, the pen is charging. When the orange light flashes, it is charging. The pen has been set to video mode, so press the top until the blue/orange light comes on. When the indicator is solid orange, it is in standby mode and ready to record videos. If you press the top again and see a few flashes of blue light, the pen will start recording soon. Recording will continue until you press the top again. I hold the stylus in video mode and can "crop" photos from .avi downloads with good quality. Here are some excerpts
