I wear it as a swim bra/top, under a rash guard or alone. It is supportive while being very comfortable and easy to move. I took out the little "pillows" in the cups as they weren't needed. The cups are double-layered and do not open even without pads. I noticed that the manufacturer has presciently left a small portion of the lining's seam "open" so that one can easily remove the "linings" without damaging the upper. Today I wore it for swimming for the first time and was very satisfied. I wear a 34B bra and I have a size M which fits me. However, I would not recommend this top to women with large breasts.
