Review on Dorman 674 891 Integrated Catalytic Converter by Adam Townsend

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit and fixed fault code P0420

My 2014 Hyundai Accent had fault codes P0135 and P0420 set. I fixed P0135 by simply replacing the O2 sensor. However, P0420 told me about an inefficient catalytic converter. After doing a paint thinner cleaning procedure (the gas tank method detailed in the YT video) I was unsuccessful and decided to replace the catalytic converter. I bought this catalytic converter from Revain which solved my p0420 problem. NOTE: After installation (2-3 hours) make sure you clear all DTCs with a scan tool (disconnecting the battery will not help) and drive AT LEAST 50 miles on the freeway. Otherwise the DTC will not be deleted! Finally, if your spark plugs are fouled, replace the PCV valve, spark plugs, and/or ignition coils. If your spark plugs are still dirty after changing the coils, you may have bad piston rings or a leaking head gasket. Unfortunately, these GDI engines have serious problems with leaking head gaskets. They burn oil! Before replacing the PCV valve, I used 1.5 liters of oil every 3000 miles, which hasn't improved much after replacing the PCV valve. By the way, my car has 170,000 miles on it, but when I first noticed it was burning oil at about 60,000.
