Apparently I received an order that was previously returned because the box it came in was sealed with ordinary tape. After removing it I noticed all the components were loose so I had to tighten everything. I noticed that the clamp screw that holds the adjustable stand isn't very good as it doesn't tighten. very good. I also wish there was some rubber on the legs to keep it from sliding around on the table easily. Another point I should mention is that the stand doesn't absorb shock from the table very well (even the table legs). ). A good mic stand should have some sort of absorbent material around the adjustable stand (for lack of a better word) like rubber or foam to absorb some of the shock, but this stand doesn't have that. It even picks up vibrations from my keyboard drawer on my desk. But this stand had a few positives that keep me from returning it. The microphone holder is detachable and uses a 3/8 thread. I have a Samson Go mic and it fits the mic perfectly. This was a huge plus for me as not many desktop mic stands have 3/8th threads. Even with the additional 6-inch pop filter, the stand holds up pretty well. With the extra weight, the stand feels more solid than without the weight. For my purposes, I keep the stand as low as possible and it fits a Go mic with a pop filter, so the stand serves me well. If you're planning on using a true standard mic and want to put the stand in a higher position, I have my doubts the stand will support the mic well. I would recommend this stand to Samson Go-Mic users (with the mic holder removed) but not to other users.
