This was one of the best ideas my husband and I have ever had. We went on a month long trip and even considered stopping and washing clothes but we still had LOTS of stuff. We bought these hoping that the bags would be strong enough to last at least part of the trip and that the pump would hold up too, but we didn't have high hopes either. I mean, after all, deflating and reinflating sacks every day wears A LOT on both of them. We even picked up a manual pump in case it stalled while driving. God how lucky we were to be wrong! re-vacuumed each morning as we prepared to leave. The plastic turned out to be very tough and durable, as did the sealing rings. This little pump is a workhorse. It is powerful enough to suck each bag evenly and powerfully. We could fit a lot more in each pocket. My husband and I brought a memory foam pillow and before you know it each was flat and tiny, fitting in our gym bag! from the bag ends and can easily get lost. There was nothing wrong with that as we just took the slider from another bag and locked it shut, but it would be nice if the bags were constructed in a way that they didn't slip off the ends as easily.
