I was looking for something brighter than the passively cooled BeamTech H11 LED lamps we were using. They're advertised at 8000 lumens, but that's obviously not even close. These Allek brands are advertised at 5400 lumens (2700 per bulb) which again is overpriced. A standard H11 halogen bulb is rated at around 1200 lumens per bulb. Your eye needs to see about twice as much light to see a noticeable difference in brightness, and four times as much to appear twice as bright. They're a bit brighter than the BeamTech, so at least the advertised performance is closer to reality than the BeamTech. These Allek brand lamps are actively cooled by a small fan on the base. They're surprisingly compact, and the fan and heatsink definitely draw heat away from the LEDs. They are advertised at 25 watts per bulb, which is enough power for two LEDs (two LEDs per bulb). They were noticeably brighter than the BeamTech bulbs they replaced, although I found that all the LEDs I tried in our Honda Pilot didn't have the brightness of halogen bulbs. This is because these LEDs only emit from two sides, while halogen lamps emit 360 degrees, which is what projector-style lamps are designed to do. The light is very white and illuminates the road well. H11 plugs will fit easily, although you should note that if the bulbs don't turn on when plugged into the socket, you will need to flip the plug as it might fit anyway. Being able to change the orientation of the bulb seems a bit of a gimmick and makes it difficult to get the radiation pattern right. I've never needed this with an LED bulb as you can rotate it 120 degrees when inserting it to find the right orientation (you want both LEDs in the housing to be horizontally opposite). After adjustment, however, the beam pattern was good with sharp clipping provided by the projector body. My only concern (as with all actively cooled lights) is how long the fans will last. Once they're gone, the fires will overheat and burn out. I didn't have any of the electrical noise that I've experienced with Hikari brand active cooling lamps. The little fans somehow made the radio howl while driving. I will update my review as we spent some time with these lamps this winter. For β¬30 I would recommend it.
