I have two of these fans. I live in central/southern Texas where summer temperatures remain very hot and bought these because of the rechargeable feature which saves me the $ I would otherwise spend on D batteries. I use them in my outdoor chicken coop. the sky and has no food source, and is in a rather low, sheltered area, so there is very little natural wind for the chickens. I tie one to each end of the perch, they are less stressed and lying better than they are in this very hot season. One of these fans makes a little rattle. The second is completely silent. I was very happy with these fans. UPDATE: I changed my rating from 5 to 2 stars. The fan I bought in May (3 months ago) no longer worked reliably. The battery should last for 500 charges, and since I charge once a day, that's clearly not enough for me. I contacted the manufacturer O2Cool and was told I was entitled to a replacement fan once I sent them a photo and shipping address. I did it quickly but since then I have had no response from the manufacturer either by email or by phone so I don't know if it is being shipped or will. Therefore, due to the lack of response from the manufacturer's customer service, I have to change my rating from five to two stars. Too bad really. I will update this when I hear from you again.
