I'm glad I bought it and will definitely buy it again; it occupies an important niche in my set. But here are some things to consider. Out of the box - Overall the design looks good except for two things. The rotational inertia is too low and the gimbal friction is too high. It is possible that on some cameras the combinations of mass, mass distribution and center of gravity are such that everything is fine, but I had some difficulties. I suspect most of you do too. HACKED - If you buy this, be prepared to do a few things. First you should go out and buy some large washers that work like smaller weights. Adding them to the mix will make it much easier for the steadicam to balance. Second, you should lubricate the driveshaft to reduce friction. 3. Adjust the weights so they are as far off axis as possible (the line from the center of rotation through the center of gravity).
