I am new to safety razors and read a few reviews before purchasing this one. First, it's made in Germany, not China, which was a plus for me. Just tried this after using Gillette Fusion razors for years. No scratches or cuts, just a clean shave. I took my time and used a good razor weight for the job. I have very coarse facial hair so I had to apply some pressure from time to time, but patience seemed key, as did getting the angle right. I am so excited about this product and the elimination of plastic disposable razors. I also think the look is very nice and looks good on my booth. Update: the blades are not the same quality as Japanese spring blades. After using the 5 included blades I started to doubt my choice as after the first shave I had several cuts from shaving with standard blades except for the last shave with them. Japanese spring blades are much smoother and have a lot less cling to my coarse facial hair. I can still highly recommend the razor, but make sure to get other blades. Your experience may vary. I've only used the standard blades on two razors, one on each side.
