Very soft and light but not cooling

I have hot flashes and night sweats which is why I spent so much money on this item but if you wash it in cold water on gentle cycle although not wet but heavy and almost impossible to dry. If you air dry it will shrink and become too heavy for the curtain rods, if you hang it outside it will shrink. It is almost impossible to dry it out. I may have to try to tumble dry it or it won't dry. Too much money to obsess over something that won't dry or get wet.
