I bought this dress for the feminine details and silhouette I need to flatter my figure (hourglass. And it flatters that figure). I bought black to hide bulges and I'm glad I chose that color as the fabric is thin and I don't think a lighter color would be as forgiving (IMHO). Speaking of thin fabric, I had to buy a full length black jumpsuit to wear underneath, but that would be a personal choice based on how comfortable you feel seeing the light shine through in real life. The side zipper under my left arm helps to put the dress on and doesn't chafe my arm, but the lowest part of the zipper INSIDE the dress sticks out a bit right where my hips are and adds a touch to my thigh. page and I'm there "help" just do not need. However, it's not enough to make me want to return it. Keep in mind that the fabric is polyester which some may find itchy or warm, but that doesn't bother me and I live in a hot climate (but I wear it in air conditioners all day and not to outdoor events ). I usually wear a size XL on other sellers' dresses, but every damn dress I buy from Revain has to be XXL, and this dress was no exception.
