They were cute and worked as expected but after a week or so they started to rust in many light sources. They didn't stop working but after I took them off I saw that almost all the lights were rusty. I was hoping to use them again next year but I don't think putting them outside is worth it. The packaging states indoor and outdoor use, but also states that the plug should be kept indoors. okkkkk. Then the safety instructions in the packaging state that you do not close the door or window on the cord or extension cord that you use to connect it. So the only way they can really be used outdoors is if you can plug them in and leave a door or window open while you work. For a party or whatever it might work, it would be more than disingenuous to say that these are waterproof seasonal outdoor lights. They are also advertised as being hung from curtains, but the safety instructions specifically state that this should not be done. This is a cheap fairy light that may suit you, but beware the adverts in this listing are misleading.
